Anniversary ball: a resounding success

Dancing continued on two floors until the early hours of the morning. What a way to end an anniversary year that offered a wide range of occasions to celebrate five decades of the University of Bayreuth, our own connection to our alma mater, and the diverse networks in the city, region, and around the world.

Just like the entire anniversary programme, the ball had something to offer for everyone. In the large hall, the ten-piece gala dance orchestra Pik 10 swung guests through 50 years of university and music history. In the small hall, DJ Niklas fired up the guests with Latin American rhythms, so that fans of salsa and bachata got their money's worth. The show programme, which mainly featured talents from the University of Bayreuth, fascinated the festively dressed guests with competitive dance performances, a choreography from the field of rhythmic gymnastics, unicycling, juggling, and Cyr wheel.

Mexican delicacies to match the Latin American rhythms and a stylish bar rounded off the evening. Christian Höreth hosted the evening, as he did for the 40th anniversary. 50 years of the University of Bayreuth and 55 years of the University Association of Bayreuth were celebrated in style until the early hours of the morning.

Here's to the next 50 years of the University of Bayreuth!
