Children's University 2024 - full house - the children storm the Audimax

The topics of the Children's University 2024 were very well received by the young visitors because, as always at the Children's University of the University of Bayreuth, they had the opportunity to choose them themselves in advance. In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Holger Kreß dealt with the topic: “What is light”. A week later, Prof. Dr. Rebecca Preller: “How do I improve my pocket money with lemons?” Prof. Dr. Niklas Kühl then went on “A treasure hunt with artificial intelligence” with the children. At the finale of this year's Children's University, Prof. Dr. André Gröschel provided information about “Batteries, the small power storage devices”.

This is what the lectures were about:

Prof. Dr. Holger Kress: There was a lot to see at Professor Kress' lecture: the bright colors of the light, employees on rockets... This event was anything but boring.

Prof. Dr. Rebecca Preller: With Professor Preller's contribution, the children learned how to make money with lemons, how best to make lemonade and how to make the right sales stand themselves.

Prof. Dr. Niklas Kühl: During the treasure hunt with AI, Prof. Kühl entertained 700 young visitors with a criminal, Santa Claus, the police, elves and a grandmother.

With Prof. Dr. André Gröschel, the children learned everything about batteries and how to handle them correctly. The children's reporters had already met Professor Gröschel in advance.

The accompanying program consisting of lectures and guided tours for the children's parents and companions was also very well received.

Professor Kühl had at least as much fun as the children during his lecture at the Children's University. Drawing: Johannes and Isabella
