On Saturday, June 13, 2026, this year’s Summer Feeling will kick off with a grand opening. As a first highlight, alumni from all degree programs are invited to return to their alma mater for a major homecoming. Sunday is dedicated entirely to families: at the Rotmain-Center Children’s and Family Day, entertainers, a bouncy castle, a treasure hunt, and much more will be waiting for kids. In the evening, the first big public viewing of the FIFA World Cup awaits numerous fans who will support the German national team at the only major public viewing event in the city. Until June 26, every single day is packed with one highlight after another. All students, university staff, and Bayreuth residents are invited to relax in deck chairs between lectures and work, watch sports tournaments on the in-house beach field, learn something new at cultural events, or enjoy live music from many artists. Two weeks of festival vibes—right on campus.
Anyone who would like to experience what it’s like to organize such an event or simply wants to help out can now sign up as a volunteer for Summer Feeling. Without volunteer support, an event of this size—with around 35,000 expected visitors—would not be possible, which is why the roughly 50-member organizing team is grateful for every helping hand. From bar service to face painting for children, all kinds of tasks can be taken on—flexibly and in a way that fits around the demanding university schedule.
More information and updates on public viewings, pub quizzes, and live performances are always available on social media channels and the website.
