How did the title come about and what is it supposed to express?
Niclas Burmeister: Exploring new Grounds: Because of the ground exhibition at the ÖBG and it's about discovering new things. Also with regard to the culinary arts, that there are food stands at UNIKAT that are not otherwise available. The same applies to the supporting programme. In fact, the whole concept of the Unikat in general. Discovering new things, stepping out of your own comfort zone.
How long have you been preparing for this?
We have been preparing UNIKAT 2023 since the end of October or the beginning of November 2022. In particular, the search for sponsors, caterers and the supporting programme is very time-consuming.
What is planned as the programme?
There will be music performances, as well as other performances and sporting activities, such as yoga. There will also be body painting. The programme is very broad, there is something for everyone. Musically, visitors can look forward to a total of six stages spread across the event area. The artists include "Mixtape", "Sondermarke", "Para Sol", "Styvy Sam", "Pets", "Wiliam Tabler", "Palacity" and "Larissa und Rolf".
How many people are coming?
1,000 people are admitted and expected. Last year, the UNIKAT was already sold out in advance.
Who organises the UNIKAT?
The UNIKAT is an event of the University of Bayreuth and is organised over two semesters as part of a seminar by various students from the business administration, sports economics, media culture and media business programmes. The event is also supported by the University Association.
Anyone who wants to get involved with UNIKAT can sign up as a volunteer and then get free admission.
