Support for next career steps
The coaching and mentoring programs of the Equal Opportunity Service Center (for gender) have been expanded. Applications are open until December.
In recent years, the Equal Opportunity (for Gender) Service Office has steadily expanded its offerings for female students, scientists in the qualification phase and beyond. These now include the coaching program, the CoMento program and empowerMINTDoc. The goal of all programmes is to support participants in consciously and systematically taking the next steps in their careers. At the same time, we want to counteract structural inequalities in this way and enable equal opportunities.
The coaching programme offers the coachee, space for self-reflection and reflection on issues or questions related to the professional role and professional identity. The aim is to develop personal, social, methodological and strategic competences in the context of professional development and practice. The coaching sessions take place in German or in English.
In addition to the usual individual coaching sessions (five free sessions of 90 minutes each), we are also offering the form of group coaching from the winter semester onwards, i.e. continuous counselling and exchange of experiences in a small group and by a professional coach.
Female academics at UBT can apply for this programme at any time, i.e. doctoral students, post-docs, habilitation candidates and professors.
The CoMento programme combines the two elements of coaching and mentoring for the individual and customised promotion of young talent. Participants have the opportunity to take part in coaching and/or mentoring, seminars, collegial counselling meetings and networking meetings (Café CoMento). All events are held in English. The 18-month programme is aimed at female doctoral researchers from the second year of their doctorate onwards, postdoctoral researchers and post-doctoral researchers at the UBT.
Applications for the next round of the programme, which will begin in spring 2023, can be submitted digitally until 16 December 2022.
empowerMINTDoc is a programme for female students of STEM subjects at UBT who wish to pursue a doctorate. participants have the opportunity to take part in seminars, peer mentoring and networking events. They are encouraged to think about their doctorate as a conscious career step and to network with others. All events are held in English.
Applications for the next round of the programme, which will begin in spring 2023, can be submitted digitally until 16 December 2022.
