Once again this year, three Bayreuth engineering students were honoured with the Vishay Technology Prize. This prize is awarded jointly by the company Vishay and the Bayreuth Faculty of Engineering to outstanding students in order to emphasise the importance of engineering studies, particularly for the local economy in Upper Franconia with its strong industry.

The three prize winners received handmade glass mementos and a total prize money of 4,000 euros. The prizes were awarded by the management of Vishay Electronic GmbH at a ceremony held at Vishay's European headquarters in Selb.
