Advent Calendar

The MOOC team had every reason to celebrate on December 7: After months of preparation - course conception, filming, post-production,... - the first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) was launched on the international partner platform edx.org! Project manager Sandy Wilke allows a little look behind the scenes:

Even before the official course start, more than 260 people from 53 countries had enrolled in "Value Co-Creation in Sport Management - A New Logic in a Changing Society" by Prof. Dr. Herbert Woratschek". (Daily updated figures: 280 participants, 39 with certificate, 54 countries).

Now we are eagerly watching how the participants go through the course and send us greetings from all over the world ("Hello from Mexico! ...Egypt! ...India! ...France...Indonesia...Spain!"). More than 10% have already chosen to earn a certificate through the course, which is an exceptionally high average. We are proud to be able to make our course available to so many people around the globe - and at the same time to convey how special the University of Bayreuth is as a place to study.

In the video, we give a little insight into our work, review the year 2020 and once again say  "THANK YOU!" to the many people who have contributed to this MOOC and created the conditions for it!
