Advent Calendar

Mountains of paper, blister packs, bags of rubbish, toys that lose their appeal after just one hour, gifts that are exchanged ... from a sustainability point of view, such a Christmas is not a good idea. Anna Krombacher and the GreenCampus team have put together a few tips to make the Advent and Christmas season a gift for the environment:

  • Use newsprint as wrapping paper and reuse packets later. Or wrap the present in a nice cloth.
  • Gives time or experiences together, e.g. exploring the region, cooking, playing
  • Choose zero-waste items that promote sustainability: Glass straws, beeswax cloths - you can make them yourself!
  • Make a donation to a charity organisation in the name of the recipient
  • In general DYI is a good idea: homemade soaps, lip balm, granola, biscuits, jam, sweets - YouTube is full of instructions
  • Give away environmentally friendly mobility by giving away a train or bus monthly ticket
