New at the cafeteria: campusBOX allows you to cook for yourself
Starting today, Tuesday, 20 April 2021, there will be eleven delicious menu items at www.campusbox.shop – to cook yourself!
“Our managing director Josef Tost had the idea for this box a year ago. Students were to choose their dish at www.campusbox.shop, we would deliver everything to their home, and the students would cook it themselves”, says Leon Leichsenring explaining campusBOX. “What makes it special are the fresh ingredients, especially the herbs, which will come fresh from the University’s ecological botanical garden in summer.” Together with Dieter Wolf, Leon Leichsenring manages dining operations at Studentenwerk Oberfranken (SWO, Upper Franconia’s Association for Student Affairs).
A box containing two servings costs € 10, while a box of four servings costs € 20. Delivery is always included, and the box is only delivered to students in the Bayreuth city area. The box can be collected from the cafeteria by any customer, i.e. even employees from University administration or academic staff, and costs the same as for students. “We deliver five days a week, from Monday to Friday. There are two delivery windows: 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm. You always order two days in advance. If you order by 11.59 p.m. on 20 April, you know your delivery will come on 22 April”, says Leon Leichsenring. International recipes are very much in focus. The box is put together by Studentenwerk, and delivery is also performed by SWO drivers.

- Curcuma chicken with vegetable couscous
- Gnocchi with sage butter and bacon
- Vegetarian tachos
- Vegetarian gnocchi in sage butter and feta
- Paella vegan
- Couscous veggi pan with tofu
- Beefburger sesame’s best
- Asian pan with pak choi, chicken and fragrant rice
An expansion of our range is currently in the works.

Our in-person canteens, cafeterias, and coffee bars
Currently, all our offerings are available to go. To reduce the amount of waste, with your help, we offer Rebowl bowls that you can rent from us for a € 5 deposit. After the meal, you bring the bowls plus lids back to us, you get your money back, and we cleanse the crockery for your next meal.

- Frischraum: Monday to Friday from 11-14 hrs.
- Cafeteria Bayreuth: Monday to Friday from 10-15.30 (hot meals: 11-15 hrs.)
- Mensateria in Nürnberger Straße: Monday to Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Coffee bar in FAN B: Monday to Thursday from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
