Theory alone does not help, practice is important, especially now - why? Dealing with crises shows that there is always a need for interplay between theoretical considerations and practical implementation. Situations like this cannot be survived solely in theory, and at the same time the implications from science are crucial for practical implementation. Already during studies, the later career aspiration often crystallises and should not be lost sight of. But what happens if the idea of the dream job does not correspond to reality? Disillusionment, disorientation and usually high frustration quickly follow. In order to avoid this and to present different job profiles, the company contact fair KarriereForum was introduced as early as the 1990s and in 2006 the workshop weeks CareerDays were also launched.
On 24 May, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., almost 100 companies will be on site in RW I, RW II and FAN B to present themselves to students at the CareerForum company contact fair. Here, students can find out about a wide range of entry-level opportunities and make contacts at the same time. The fair will be accompanied by two career dinners, one-on-one interviews in person and virtually, as well as general applicant training the day before.
Afterwards, from 5 to 21 June, the university workshop weeks CareerDays will take place on campus. Here, students have the opportunity to get to know different companies, industries and career fields within the framework of workshops over a period of two and a half weeks. One day as a project manager and the next day insights into working as a management consultant or marketing specialist? No problem! The CareerDays offer you the right framework for this - here theoretical knowledge is put into practice. These half-day or full-day workshops often form the basis for a later career in the company of your choice and it is not unusual for interns, trainees or young professionals to be recruited here.
