The TOP 6 winning ideas of the ideas competition Create YOUR Campus, held over the 2019 summer semester at the University of Bayreuth for the second time, have been decided:

2. Sports Cafe

3. Healthy, sustainable & fair food

4. Urban gardening

5. Muesli station in the cafeteria

6. More outside seating for eating & spending time

In the 2019 summer semester, University Health Management, together with EduCare Study Support, and Psychological Counselling at Studentenwerk (Upper Franconia's Association for Student Affairs), announced the second instalment of their ideas competition Create YOUR Campus, inspired by which, the University of Bayreuth is seeking to keep promoting the well-being of its employees and students on campus. Thanks to the inaugural 2017 ideas competition, Create YOUR Campus has been able to implement three winning ideas. Drinking fountains, the colourful “Enzi” seating, and as part of the bicycle project 'bicycle-friendly Uni, bicycle-friendly city', inter alia, a further bicycle repair station at the Department of Sport Science have all been made reality. Recently, thanks to the great commitment of Green Campus and StuPa’s (Student Parliament’s) bicycle mobility working group, the RadBox, a self-help bicycle workshop has been up and running (more information: www.greencampus.uni-bayreuth.de).

With the redesign of the cafeteria, the focus had shifted to food and drink for the 2019 ideas competition. Students and employees had the opportunity to submit ideas with regard to any aspects of Eating & Drinking on campus. After six weeks, the CYC ideas box and the online forms provided over 200 ideas for the evaluation phase. During the semester break, the ideas were all read and scrutinized for how well they fulfilled the competition criteria. They had to be creative, health-promoting, and sustainable, feasible and affordable, and on top of that they were meant to be useful to as many students and employees as possible.
