"At the University of Bayreuth, we are constantly confronted with the question of how to recognise and counter discriminatory structures," explains Saumya Premchander, research assistant at the Department of Economic Geography. "As teachers, we ask ourselves in particular how we can counter such structures in our teaching. The topic is part of our work here because as a university, we are interested in intersectionality."

For the event titled “Discussing Difference within the University”, Premchander and her colleagues have invited Francis Seeck and Dilek Okur, with whom issues of class, gender, race, and discrimination will be discussed.

The event is funded out of the University's Innovative Equality Measures budget.

The event will take place online and in German at 6 p.m. on 3 February.
