The University of Bayreuth has several rooms at its branch in Thurnau, which can also be booked by other university members as normal via the room allocation system. What makes it special: In the time-honoured and perfectly renovated castle, the university offers the opportunity to hold events in an extraordinary setting. To do so, please send an e-mail to raumvergabe@uni-bayreuth.de. The secretariat of the Institute of Franconian Regional History will then coordinate the dates and organise the event with the enquirers.

The seminar room is ideal for events such as lectures or smaller group meetings. There is room for 15 to 20 people at tables.

Another room, the "multifunctional hall", is also suitable for larger groups. It can accommodate 60 to 80 visitors. And one thing applies to all rooms in the castle: the rooms are pleasantly cool and are therefore particularly suitable for events in summer. The renovated rooms are also part of a truly impressive ensemble.

There is also the option of renting rooms at the fimt (Research Institute for Music Theatre), which is also housed in Thurnau Castle.

"Once you're there, you have everything," says Dr Marcus Mühlnikel, Academic Senior Councillor at the Institute for Franconian Regional History, with a twinkle in his eye. "For some, Thurnau may seem remote, but if guests are coming from out of town, then the castle is a good choice. The infrastructure is excellent, there is great accommodation just around the corner and the culinary offerings here are perfect for conferences, graduate colleagues, block events, lectures or closed meetings."
