Campus Management becomes Student Life Cycle Management
Interface set up for all matters relating to the study process (from application to graduation).
As of 1 April, Campus Management is no longer a service unit of the University, but will become part of Department I (Legal, Academic and Student Affairs, Family-friendly University). The name of the new unit - Student Life Cycle Management (SLCM) - aptly reflects the spectrum of its tasks: as the central interface for all matters relating to the course of studies (from application to graduation), SLCM is responsible for coordinating the campus management systems. In doing so, the department works closely with all involved actors such as the Student Office, the Examinations Office and the faculties.
The head of the unit is Mr Tobias Kreisel, who can build on extensive experience in various areas in his previous work as Faculty Officer for Teaching and Students at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science and research assistant at the Chair of Business Mathematics (Prof. Dr Jörg Rambau).
He looks forward to the new task with enthusiasm: "I am very much looking forward to the new task and the challenges it entails. By anchoring SLCM in Department I, the areas of the administration involved in the Student Life Cycle are moving closer together, which will be reflected in improved processes and will benefit our students in particular. Together with my team, I will, among other things, work closely with the faculties to develop processes that make the best possible use of the campus management systems to our advantage. I thank you for your trust and look forward to working with you."
The decision to further develop and adapt the former CM Service Office is the result of intensive deliberations and efforts in 2022. Under the leadership of the Chancellor and with the participation of the other responsible areas (including Department I, ITS, Vice President for Digitalisation, Innovation and Sustainability, Vice President for Teaching and Studies, CIO), competences, responsibilities and tasks were clarified in order to make this central area more future-proof as an interface between applicants and students, teaching staff and faculties, as well as the administrative area.
Chancellor Dr. Nicole Kaiser emphasises: "With the restructuring of Campus Management, we are creating clear structures to manage the student life cycle holistically - hence the new name. We have oriented ourselves to the needs of the various areas and the developments in recent years and will continue to improve the quality of our services in this area through optimised anchoring in and clear assignment to the central university administration. I wish Tobias Kreisel and his team every success in this endeavour!"
Once the move is complete, probably on 1 May, the department will therefore also be located directly on campus. The exact contact details (room and telephone number) will be announced at a later date. Until then, the department can be reached as usual by e-mail at cmhelp@uni-bayreuth.de.
