The Audimax was well-filled.

The Audimax of the University of Bayreuth was well-filled when Dirk Steffens was welcomed there on 21 October to celebrate his honorary doctor. The organising team had recorded more than 250 registrations. And the atmosphere was already good before the event, because the "Derabeudische Orkester Oberfranken" played in front of the Audimax, so that those waiting were already entertained and many conversations could develop.

Dirk Steffens fulfilled every photo request.

In addition, a wide variety of campus initiatives, research institutions, study programmes and student groups had set up stands indoors to provide information and talk about biodiversity, ecology and sustainability.

After the festivity, many people wanted to talk to Dirk Steffens.

After the festivity, many talks took place. Especially with Dirk Steffens. A huge queue of listeners was formed in the Audimax. The honorary doctor took a lot of time, exchanged a few words with everyone, gave tips on starting a career as a science journalist and willingly signed autographs. "I'm studying biology because of you," one student said to Steffens. Another student even called the science journalist his "idol".

He was one of the last to leave the Audimax. With a new name tag: Dr. Dirk Steffens.
