"The SGroup provides the University of Bayreuth with steady reputation
enhancement, more international visibility, and it sharpens its global
profile. The University of Bayreuth benefits greatly from exchanging ideas on innovative strategies within the SGroup across the continents," says Heinemann. In concrete terms, this helps, among other things, with the acquisition and execution of internationally funded third-party projects, especially at the European level. The close networking within the SGroup also makes prestigious international higher education projects possible at the University of Bayreuth. One example is the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree "European Interdisciplinary Master in African Studies (EIMAS)" together with the SGroup member University of Porto. In addition, the University of Bayreuth can actively shape European education policy with the SGroup - for example in projects such as Erasmus Without Paper (EWP and EWP 2.0) as a pilot partner of Ghent University.
The University of Bayreuth has been involved in the SGroup since the network was founded in 1988. The University of Bayreuth also plays an active role in the content design and coordination of the SGroup Think Tank Academy, which is effective as the network's central platform for knowledge transfer and innovation. The International Office and the University of Bayreuth’s Gateway Offices are largely responsible for the cooperation with the SGroup.
