KidsBox purchased for the Kulmbach campus
Mobile "children's room" complements the family-friendly infrastructure.
As a family-friendly university, the University of Bayreuth naturally does not leave out the Kulmbach campus. Recently, a so-called KidsBox was purchased for the Kulmbach campus from the funds of the Family-Friendly University organizational unit to support flexible childcare. This is a cabinet on wheels that, when opened, creates an area where children can play or be changed or cared for by their parents.
The KidsBox was developed in close cooperation with the University of Würzburg and won the international IF Design Award in 2018. The mobile children's room contains everything children need to play, sleep and occupy themselves and replaces a stationary parent-child workroom. The KidsBox includes, among other things, a travel cot, a folding mattress, a clamping seat, a yoga and gymnastics mat, painting materials, toys, children's books and also hygiene items. Everything else at: www.my-kidsbox.de
The KidsBox is located in the Fritz-Hornschuch-Villa on the 2nd floor on the right (in the lounge and workroom, room 2.14 "Coworking Spaces"). All employees are informed about the possibilities of the KidsBox and can use it on their own responsibility. If you have any questions, please contact the Dean's Office of Faculty VII.
