New Appointees and the Golden Badge of Honour of the University of Bayreuth
In a slightly different format than usual, the professors of the university came together in the Audimax on Wednesday evening. The networking meeting was a mixture of anniversary and tea time with the president.
Actually, the anniversary of the University of Bayreuth always takes place in October. In 2021, it had to be cancelled due to corona. The golden pin of honour of the University of Bayreuth was to have been awarded for the first time on this evening.
The golden badge of honour is intended to recognise internal university achievements that go far beyond normal official duties and are performed for the benefit of the university. The award went to a total of ten professors. You will find the press release here.
But in addition to the awards, the networking meeting also provided an opportunity for the professors to exchange ideas. Before the "cosy part", many newly appointed professors introduced themselves and explained their research focus. It was already apparent here that the highly motivated professors and their research have many overlaps and that many collaborations could emerge.
