New portal for new students
Since the end of August, the University of Bayreuth has had a new, very clear contact point for prospective students and new students. The website bundles the important questions of new Bayreuth students.
In order to make the start at the University of Bayreuth as easy as possible for prospective students, the Press/Marketing/Communications Department (PMK) has set up a new portal. The website www.gamechanger-campus.de bundles everything you need to know about applying, enrolling and starting at the University of Bayreuth in three subpages (Get started - Develop - Work), as well as what makes studying successful throughout its phases.
Much of the content could already be found online before, but has now been repackaged. "Our goal was to meet potential students where they are right now," says Olga Gassan, who is responsible for student marketing at the University of Bayreuth. "The website is supposed to be more 'consumer' than what we have offered so far. The morsels are smaller, so to speak, easier to consume, so that potential students can access them more easily."
This already starts with the decision for the right degree programme. "Under 'Study Trends', we have divided some of our degree programmes into trend topics, such as sustainability or artificial intelligence, so that people can get a quick overview," says Gassan. "But of course all degree programmes are also available via the degree programme finder."
Under the tab "Apartment search", prospective students are asked, for example, whether they are more of a "student hall of residence", "shared flat" or "own flat" type and are then directed to the corresponding information pages. There is also an extra tab for student financing, tips for first-semester students are linked as well as various reasons to choose Bayreuth.
But the portal also covers topics that can become interesting during your studies, such as "setting up a business" or the career service.
In summary, it can be said: "Study in Bayreuth? Of course!" and this is also shown by the new website. It is intended to provide a general overview where you can find information on your own. However, the website does not replace the student advisory service. Nor should it. Of course, the student advisory service is still the right place to go for specific questions. The new website is also interesting for staff, professors and current students. Feel free to take a look: www.gamechanger-campus.de.
