Qualification programme for young scientists
The requirements for an academic career are manifold: scientific quality of research work, data documentation and analysis, presentation techniques, involvement in teaching, project and time management and many more.
In addition, you should prepare for a career after your doctorate or postdoc. Would you like to stay in science or pursue a non-university career?
To support you, the Service Agency WiN is once again offering a versatile qualification programme for all career stages of young academics for the winter semester 2023/24. PhD students, postdocs, post-doctoral researchers, junior research group leaders and junior professors can further their education in individual workshops or certificate programmes and thus expand their portfolio of competencies. Almost half of the workshops are in English, and about half are offered as online workshops to meet the needs of young researchers. To ensure quality and topicality, the events and trainers are evaluated and the programme is regularly expanded with new competence and methodological workshops.
Examples from the winter semester 23/24:
- Fundamentals of Business Administration and Finance (1.5 days, online)
- Working in Multicultural Teams (1.5 days, presence)
- Research Data Management (2 hours, online)
- Project Management in Science (1 day, attendance)
- Planning conferences without stress: Practical knowledge for a successful project start! (0.5 days, online)
- Time Management as Life Management - Actively organising time and getting projects off the ground (2 days, attendance)
The qualification programme is offered in cooperation with the Centre for Higher Education Teaching (ZHL), the Writing Centre, the Career Service, the Start-up Advisory Service, the Equal Opportunities Service, the Research Promotion Service, the Language Centre, the Welcome Centre and the Gateway Offices.
