Dr. Susanne Strebin: new coordinator at the Campus in Kulmbach

Dr. Susanne Strebin is the central contact person for all matters relating to Faculty VII, in particular issues relating to budget, space, and buildings. In this context she coordinates areas such as the planning of buildings and infrastructure. In addition, she is responsible for the structure and organization of the Dean's Office and provides support in appointment processes and scientific projects.

Susanne Strebin received her Magister degree from the University of Bayreuth with a focus on modern history, early modern history, and sociology. This makes her, as she herself says, a classic "homegrown" member of the University of Bayreuth. During her doctorate in Modern History under Prof. Dr. Hermann J. Hiery, she worked as a research associate in the Modern History research group, where she was able to gain her first experience in teaching and research. After completing her doctorate, she worked for two years in the field of employment administration before she was able to get to know important local network partners as a coordinator and branch manager in adult education in Kulmbach. Susanne Strebin is now looking forward to her new challenges at the University of Bayreuth and hopes to be able to further expand her existing network in Kulmbach and use it for the wide-ranging demands of campus development in Kulmbach.

As a historian, however, she also loves her new working environment because the premises for the Kulmbach campus are a highly interesting historical building. Here one can still find countless remnants of the former spinning mill administration, from historical telephone systems to the punch clock, and behind every door, according to Dr. Strebin, there are historical treasures to be discovered.
