Background:
Since 2013, the University of Bayreuth has had target agreements between the University Governing Board and the faculties for the implementation of equal opportunities for the sexes. These are each agreed for a term of five years and are currently in the second round (1st round: 2013-2017, 2nd round: 2018-2022). Within this framework, the University Governing Board provides annual funding of € 70,000 for the Women's Advancement Award to honour the gender equality efforts and successes of the faculties. In addition, the University Governing Board (since 2018) has been deliberately encouraging the development of new ideas and projects on gender equality at the University of Bayreuth with an annual budget for Innovative Gender Equality Measures amounting to € 10,000 - all University members can contribute here.
