"It has been a turbulent year at Elefant Racing e.V.," begins Konstantin Hübner, 2nd board member of the Formula Student racing team at the University of Bayreuth. "Our season was marked by significant changes, especially our move to the Bavarian Centre for Battery Technology. This not only allowed us to enlarge our premises, but above all opened up the possibility for us as a club to significantly increase the vertical range of manufacture of the new FR23 Freya with our own, newly acquired machines."

The commitment as well as the dedication of every single member led to technical innovations: a 4.5 kilogram lighter carbon monocoque and the third generation of their own engines, which achieve a remarkable 35 kilowatt at only 3.5 kilograms, amazed even the top teams.

"Over the course of the season, we experienced ups and downs," Hübner reflects. "The technical acceptance procedure, the scrutineering, proved to be particularly challenging at FS Netherlands, as we all know."

Despite a difficult start there, the team had pulled themselves together at Formula Student Austria at the Red Bull Ring and eventually achieved outstanding success at Formula Student Czech at Autodrom Most, including 10th place overall and an impressive third place in the Acceleration discipline.

"It was a great pleasure to bring a trophy in a dynamic discipline back to Bayreuth after more than five years. We are equally proud that we were finalists in the disciplines of cost report and business plan at the FS Czech," says Hübner.

"A big thank you is due to all the team members who have worked tirelessly to develop and manufacture the FR23 Freya," says the 2nd Chairman. "Without their passion and dedication, such achievements would not be possible."

And for anyone interested in getting involved in this dynamic environment: "Elefant Racing is always looking for committed members. Whether you already have business or engineering experience or not, we welcome anyone who wants to get involved. Just check out our website or contact us at info@elefantracing.de."
