Bayreuth's Mayor Thomas Ebersberger knows the University of Bayreuth from the perspective of a student: He completed his law studies here. Ebersberger brings years of experience as a business lawyer and family law attorney.

As Mayor, he is now also Managing Director of the Richard Wagner Foundation as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of various municipal companies and Chairman of the Board of various foundations. "I can't imagine Bayreuth without the university. It is both the engine and fuel for Bayreuth's further development and the link between the present and the future," says Ebersberger.

Bayreuth's Lord Mayor was also very committed to the university as a student. So it's no surprise that he also wants to get involved in the Board of Trustees: "During my studies, I was already involved in committee work twice as Convention Chair, once as Speaker's Council and as a student representative in the Senate and Assembly. Of course, I am happy to continue this as Lord Mayor on the Board of Trustees of the University of Bayreuth."

The Board of Trustees of the University of Bayreuth is composed of personalities from business, culture and politics and supports the University in representing its interests. The members advise and promote the University and serve in an honorary capacity.
