In order to make the campus even more attractive and to create an incentive to exercise for students and employees, the University Health Management suggested the purchase of several table tennis tables. With the generous financial support of the Universitätsverein Bayreuth e.V., the tables were quickly purchased. "As a Universitätsverein, it is of course important to us to keep the campus attractive for all members of the university family. Unfortunately, there was nothing like this when I was a student in Bayreuth," says Dr. Michael Hohl, Chairman of the Univerein. "We were happy to cover the costs for the four tables in Bayreuth and the one in Kulmbach. A nice table tennis match during the lecture break might even trigger a spontaneous thought about membership in the Univerein!"
"In the last few months, various locations have been examined by Central Technology and University Health Management," says Pia Laemmert, coordinator of University Health Management. "We hope to have found four suitable locations for the table tennis tables on campus, which students and employees will enjoy playing on in the future." A table tennis table has also been installed in Kulmbach and is now playable. "We are currently in the process of developing a rental system for table tennis bats and balls so that nothing stands in the way of a spontaneous game," adds Pia Laemmert. The nearest lending station will be noted on the table tennis tables.
